Travelers is an experience-driven boutique hotel located in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District. Staffed by artists-in-residence, our genuine hospitality provides guests with unique insight into our city’s creative culture, while also providing a relaxing retreat from downtown’s livelier districts. Most importantly, we cultivate an atmosphere of connection with — rather than consumption of — NOLA’s various attractions, guiding guests toward authentic opportunities to experience the distinct flavors, sounds and sights of the Crescent City.

At Travelers, we intentionally cultivate a community atmosphere, encouraging our guests to share travel tips and personal stories—and to recruit local insights from our welcoming staff. In addition to orienting guests toward a more authentic experience of NOLA’s attractions, our business model also supports the future of the city’s creative class. Each of our paid employees are part of an artists-in-residence program, receiving free living and studio spaces to further their professional pursuits. From writers and fine artists, to musicians and craftspersons, not only does our guest experience benefit from the diverse perspectives of these talented individuals, but we also see this non-traditional operations structure as an enduring investment in New Orleans’ arts community.
